What do I need to know before buying an Eau Smart Toilet?Updated a day ago

So you want to put yourself on a pedestal. Smart choice.

Before you commit to the most luxurious relationship of your life, your bathroom needs to be ready. Check these boxes before you buy — or before your Eau arrives — and installation will go smoother than a freshly sprayed booty.

✔️ Power
The Eau runs on electricity and needs a dedicated 3-prong 120V GFCI outlet within 3 feet of the toilet. That's non-negotiable.

No GFCI outlet near your toilet? We can connect you with a licensed electrician in your area before you buy. Email [email protected] and we'll sort it.

✔️ Space
Your bathroom needs to meet these clearances:

  • Rough-in depth: at least 12" from the wall to the center of the drain pipe
  • Behind the bowl: at least 12" of clear space
  • Side clearance: at least 8" from the center of the drain to any wall or obstacle
  • In front of the bowl: at least 12" of clear space

✔️ Water Supply

  • Supply valve must sit at least 8" to the left or right of the drain center
  • Valve must have a 3/8" or 1/2" compression fitting — if yours doesn't, swap it before install
  • Cold water only. The Eau heats its own water. Connecting to a hot line causes overheating and voids your warranty

Installation Heads-Up

  • Two people required. This toilet is heavy. One person + one toilet = injury and/or a very bad day.
  • Installation means removing your old toilet, setting a wax ring, connecting supply hoses, and plugging into your GFCI outlet. Not rocket science, but not nothing.
  • If your flange needs replacing, call a plumber. We say "strongly recommend" — we mean it.
  • After install, wait 24 hours leak-free before caulking. Leave a 1–2" gap at the back so future leaks surface before they cause damage.
  • Hear banging in your pipes (water hammer)? Stop. Call a licensed plumber. Continuing can damage your plumbing and void your warranty.
