My Eau by TUSHY's seat or lid isn't opening/closing automaticallyUpdated 36 minutes ago
The Eau's Auto Open/Close feature is one of its best party tricks — hands-free, touchless operation every time you walk up. If it's stopped working, here's what to check.
Auto Open/Close Is Turned Off
The most common reason: the feature was accidentally toggled off via the remote.
Fix for Lid Auto Open/Close:
- Hold the Open/Close Lid button on the remote for 5 seconds.
- The unit will beep once to confirm the auto lid feature is now ON. (Two beeps = turned off, hold again to re-enable.)
Fix for Seat Auto Open/Close:
- Hold the Open/Close Seat button on the remote for 5 seconds.
- One beep = ON. Two beeps = OFF.
💦 Tip: The Lid and Seat auto features are toggled independently. If the lid opens automatically but the seat doesn't (or vice versa), check each button separately.
The Toilet Has No Power
Auto Open/Close is an electronic function that requires the unit to be powered on.
Fix:
- Confirm the Eau is plugged into a 3-prong 120V GFCI outlet.
- Check that the GFCI outlet hasn't tripped. Press the RESET button if needed.
- Confirm the digital display on the seat is lit.
You're Out of Range
The approach sensor has a detection range. If you're approaching from an unusual angle or at a distance, the sensor may not register your presence.
Fix:
- Approach the toilet from the front as you normally would.
- Move closer if needed — walk directly toward the toilet rather than approaching from the side.
Go manual!
Whether or not auto mode is on, you can always control the lid and seat manually from the remote:
- Open/Close Lid button: Opens or closes the lid. If the seat is up when you press it, both the lid and seat will close.
- Open/Close Seat button: Opens or closes the seat. If the lid is closed when you press it, both the lid and seat will open.
- Kick Button (on the toilet base): One kick opens the lid; kick again to open the seat. When both are open, one kick closes both and triggers a flush.
Still Not Working?
If auto open/close remains unresponsive after checking all of the above, there may be a sensor issue. Contact our Poo-Rus, and we'll figure out the next steps together.
