My Eau by TUSHY isn't flushing!Updated an hour ago
The Eau Smart Toilet flushes using water pressure and an electronic trigger, so a flush failure usually points to either a power issue or a water supply issue. Here's how to work through it.
The Power Is Out
The flush function requires electricity. If the toilet has no power, the flush button won't work.
Fix:
- Confirm the Eau is plugged into a 3-prong 120V GFCI outlet.
- Check that the GFCI outlet hasn't tripped — press the RESET button on the outlet if needed.
- Confirm the digital display on the seat is lit.
How to Flush Manually During a Power Outage:
If the power is out and you need to flush right now:
1. Slowly pour 1–2 gallons (4–8 liters) of water directly into the toilet bowl.
2. Pour steadily to create a siphon effect which will initiate a manual flush.
💦 Tip: If you live in an area with frequent power outages, consider picking up the compatible Eau Battery Pack to keep your Eau fully functional during outages.
The Water Supply Valve Is Closed
If the water supply to the toilet is off, the tank won't refill and the toilet can't flush.
Fix:
- Locate the water supply valve beside or behind the toilet.
- Turn it counter-clockwise to open it fully.
- Attempt a flush. If the display shows error code E5-A, this confirms there is no water reaching the product and opening the valve fully should resolve it.
The Remote or Kick Button Isn't Triggering the Flush
If water supply and power are both fine but the flush won't trigger, the issue may be with the control.
Fix:
- Try flushing using the Flush button on the remote.
- Try the Kick Button on the toilet base (when lid and seat are open, one kick closes both and triggers a flush).
- If the remote isn't responding at all, see our article: Eau Remote Not Working.
The Display Shows an Error Code
If the digital display on the seat is showing an error code, this points to a specific issue the toilet has detected.
- E5-A: No water reaching the product. Check that the water supply valve is fully open and that no hoses are kinked.
- "Eau" displayed: The unit experienced an interruption in electrical frequency. Unplug the toilet and plug it back in to reset. If the error persists, contact our Poo-Rus.
If you see a different error code not listed above, look in the Troubleshooting section of your Installation Manual or contact our team and we'll decode it for you.
