How to use a Skirted Toilet KitUpdated 2 months ago
If you can’t access your toilet tank’s connection, you likely have a skirted toilet. It might look a little tricky, but those types of toilets are generally compatible with TUSHY!
Watch our Installation Guide, Carrie, walk you through a skirted toilet installation
The biggest issues with skirted toilets tend to be: (1) access to the supply hoses that fill the tank and (2) removing your toilet seat.
For the first issue, it might seem like you’ll have no way of accessing the tank's water connection. No big deal! You have a sleek and unique non-standard water supply connection (Ooh la la!). You’ll just need a US Standard 3/8" mini adapter that you can use to connect at the water shut-off valve instead of the toilet tank connection.
We also put a little installation video together for you on how to do that. Check it out!
For the second issue with the seat, what we typically recommend is to unscrew one screw of your toilet seat and measure its length. If the screw is at least 3 inches long (or 75mm) then you should have no issues. If its length is shorter than that, we recommend just grabbing a longer screw. We carry Universal Screws that will work with all toilets here.
If you need both the 3/8" adapter and the universal screws, add our Skirted Toilet Kit for 3/8" Connections to your order! No sleek or unique toilet left behind!
*If you're in California, your plumbing fittings might differ from the standard 3/8" used in the rest of the country. Be sure to check your connections; you might need a 1/2" brass mini adapter instead!
