Eau Remote isn't workingUpdated 2 minutes ago
If your Eau remote isn't responding — or only some buttons are working — here's how to get it back in action.
The Toilet Isn't Plugged In
The remote communicates with the toilet electronically, so if the unit has no power, no buttons will do anything.
Fix:
- Make sure the power cord is plugged firmly into a 3-prong 120V GFCI outlet.
- Check the outlet itself — locate the RESET button on the GFCI outlet and press it to reset if it has tripped.
- Confirm the digital display on the seat is lit. If the display is off, the unit has been powered down or has no power.
The Remote Batteries Are Dead
The remote runs on 2x AAA batteries (included with your Eau). If the indicator lights on the back of the remote don't light up at all when you press a button, the batteries are the likely culprit.
Fix:
- Slide the battery cover off the back of the remote.
- Replace both AAA batteries with fresh ones.
- Replace the battery cover and test the remote.
The Remote Has Lost Its Pairing
Occasionally, especially after a power outage or if the toilet was unplugged, the remote may lose its connection to the unit and need to be re-paired.
Fix:
- Unplug the power cord from the GFCI outlet.
- Press and hold the STOP button on the remote until the indicator lights on the battery side begin flashing.
- Keep the remote close to the toilet and plug the power cord back in.
- Pairing is complete when the indicator lights stop flashing.
Tip: Keep the remote within arm's reach of the toilet during pairing as distance can interfere with the connection.
You're Not Sitting on the Seat
For safety, most wash and dryer functions on the Eau only activate when someone is seated. The seat sensor must be triggered before these functions will respond.
Fix:
- Sit fully on the seat so you cover the Seat Sensor, located on the left front side of the seat.
- Try the function again. Flush, lid, and seat buttons work without being seated — wash, dryer, and nozzle functions require it.
Only Some Buttons Are Working
If flush, lid, and seat controls respond, but wash or dryer functions don't, this is almost always the seat sensor, see above. If no buttons respond at all, work through the steps in order: power → batteries → pairing.
Still Not Working?
If none of the above resolves the issue, there may be a hardware problem with the remote or the receiver in the unit. Reach out here, and we'll sort it out!
