How do I clean and maintain my TUSHY Spa 3.0?Updated 19 hours ago
Your nozzle stays tucked away in its own poo-free cocoon until you use it, and it rinses itself with running water every time, completely hands-free.
But a bidet can't clean itself. Just like your toilet, your TUSHY should get a regular wipe-down using a mild, neutral-pH cleaner. Good options include Simple Green, Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds, or any soap that isn't harsh or caustic. Not sure about something you've got on hand? Send us the label, and we'll confirm it's a good match.
Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto your TUSHY. Wipe surfaces down with a damp cloth instead, and manually pull down the nozzle to clean around it.
⚠️ Do not use bleach, thinner, benzene, acidic chemicals, chloride, or hydrochloric acid detergent. These can discolor or scratch your TUSHY, corrode it, or damage your home. Harsh chemicals on your water hoses specifically can cause cracking, leaks, and water damage.
A poorly maintained bidet can malfunction. If you have hard water, the nozzle can build up sediment or calcium over time. The easy fix: wrap the nozzle with a rag or paper towel soaked in white distilled vinegar and let it sit for 30 minutes to a few hours.
Annual Inspection
Your TUSHY was designed to last for years of improved hygiene and enjoyment. That said, all plumbing parts in your home should be reviewed and replaced periodically to ensure proper functionality and reduce any risk to your property. TUSHY is no exception to this general plumbing rule.
We recommend a quick once-a-year check. Here's what to look for:
- Hoses and tubing — cracks, bulges, brittleness, kinks, or general wear
- Adapters and connections — corrosion, mineral buildup, or looseness
- Any signs of leaking, rusting, or material deterioration
If you spot any of the above:
- Turn off the water supply at the shutoff valve.
- Stop using your TUSHY until the part is replaced.
- Replace the affected part before using it again.
As a general rule of thumb, we recommend replacing hoses and tubing every 4 years, or sooner if you notice any signs of wear.
