How do I check for leaks after installing my TUSHY Handheld Bidet Sprayer?Updated 12 hours ago
A quick leak check right after installation saves a lot of towels later. Here's how to do it properly.
Before turning the water on
- Confirm the Bidet's pressure slider is in the OFF position (pushed all the way down). You should feel a slight click when it's fully off.
- Confirm the Shutoff Adapter is OPEN (handle pointing up).
First pressurization check
- Turn the water supply valve counterclockwise to open it, then close it again clockwise. This one-turn pressurizes the connections without running water continuously.
- Inspect every connection carefully:
- Bottom of the Shutoff Adapter where it meets the supply hose
- Top of the Shutoff Adapter where it meets the tank inlet
- Both ends of the Bidet Hose
- The connection at the Handheld Sprayer body
- Run your hand along each hose and fitting to feel for any moisture, even a tiny amount.
If you find a leak
- Check that the black rubber gaskets are properly seated at all connection points (both ends of the Bidet Hose, top of the Shutoff Adapter).
- Confirm nothing is cross-threaded. Unscrew the leaking connection counterclockwise and reattach, making sure the threads align before tightening.
- Confirm all connections are snug, but don't overtighten. Hand-tight plus a quarter turn with a wrench is enough.
Final slow-leak check
- Once the initial check looks clean, fully open the water supply valve counterclockwise.
- Leave a towel or small bowl under the connections.
- Come back in about an hour. Slow leaks won't always show up immediately.
- If you see any water, return to Step 3 of the installation and check the gaskets and thread alignment again.
Wrapping up
Once the hour check comes back dry, you're all set. Turn the Shutoff Adapter to CLOSED (handle pointing down) until your first use.
